COBIA: 90lbs caught by Clyde Taft Simpson of Chesapeake, VA at Sandbridge

It was confirmed this morning.  The Backlash was second in the Meat fish category and third overall in the Virginia Beach Marlin Invitational Tournament. 

While they tied the second place boat for the number of White Marlin releases, the Sniper (the second place boat) caught their Marlin before the Backlash.  Either way we are still VERY PROUD of the Backlash!!!

WOW!!!!
 so far this year we have had two of our charter boats place in tournaments this year.  The Waterman won the Virginia Beach Tuna Tournament and the Backlash came in Third in the Virginia Beach Marlin Invitational Tournament.  Another tournament that ran at the same time as the VBMIT, was the Wachapreague Marlin Tournament. The tournament is very similar to ours, and the WATERMAN took FIRST PLACE this year in that TOURNAMENT!!!

What a way to start the tournament season.  We have also had many other boats from the marina and Rudee Inlet place in these tournaments as well.  With many of our boats fishing in both the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament and the White Marlin Open we are sure our boats will do just as well in these tournaments. 

Now that the tournament is over (ended yesterday) most of the boats are enjoying a day off today in which they are taking part in some well deserved relaxation.
