A Quick Update

by | May 26, 2017

Rudee Inlet:

Some anglers are still catching some Bluefish along with a few Speckled Trout. There are still decent amounts of Puppy Drum and Bluefish biting, hitting on cut Finger Mullet. The Flounder bite has been steady in recent days hitting on Gulp on a light jig head, though we have not heard of any keepers yet. There are some Croaker and Spot starting to move into the inlet, hitting on artificial bloodworms.

Inshore:

Our inshore fishing trips are currently targeting Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Fishing has not been strong recently but we are expecting things to pick up as summer moves in. Last year we had a great inshore season with tons of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish caught. There are Cobia being caught just south of us so they should be moving off our coast soon. Also we have had some nice Spadefish being brought in from around the light tower.

Offshore:

We have had some private boats run offshore here recently, and they have returned with some nice catches of Mahi, and a few Yellowfin Tuna in the mix of things. Our fleet has been picking up some trips as well so we plan to hear about what they are catching in the next week or so.
