More Mahi & A Few Marlin

by | Sep 16, 2017

Offshore:

Bright and early this morning we had the WaveRunner and Backlash head out to the deep water offshore. Yesterday produced some awesome offshore fishing with a bunch of Mahi and Blueline Tilefish being caught, as well as seeing a good amount of release White Marlin flags flying as the boats returned to their slips. The WaveRunner and backlash both returned from offshore with impressive catches of Mahi as well as flying a few White Marlin release flags

Inshore:

the Capt Cheryl fished inshore today and returned to the docks with a nice catch of Spanish Mackerel and a few Bluefish in the mix of things. There have been some citation sized Red Drum that have been caught and released in recent days. Spanish Mackerel have continued to be caught while trolling spoons just off our beautiful oceanfront outside of Rudee Inlet. The inshore sharks are still here for those anglers looking to do a little catch and release shark fishing. The most recent change in the inshore report has been the appearance of King Mackerel, we have seen more here this past week than we have in a long time.

Rudee Inlet:

The Flounder have continued to hit on Gulp on a light jig head or live minnows, with a good amount of keepers being caught. Puppy Drum continue to attack cut bait, gulp, and a few other artificial baits. If you can keep your artificial baits away from the Puppy Drum there are a few Speckled Trout starting to make an appearance as well. Croaker and Spot continue to bite on the bottom, with live bloodworms being the popular bait. Anglers looking to target these fish may also use the fishbites bloodworm scent or cut squid. Be sure to stop in our store for all your Rudee Inlet fishing needs.
