Nice Offshore Bite

by | Aug 9, 2016

Rudee Inlet

Rudee Inlet continues to produce a strong Flounder bite, with some nice keepers in the mix of things. The Flounder have been biting best on live minnows, as well as gulp on a light jog head. Croaker and the occasional Spot continue to bite on live blood worms as well as cut squid. There are still a few lingering Bluefish and Puppy Drum inside Rudee Inlet that have been biting on cut Finger Mullet.

Inshore:

Though we have no inshore trips scheduled for today, these past few weeks have produced some phenomenal inshore catches. We have seen some beautiful hauls of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish brought back in to the docks, as well as the occasional Cobia and Flounder. There have also been some nice Red Drum and small sharks that have been caught and released. Inshore trips are great family outings or even a good for a group of friends just looking to get out on the water and catch some fish. Offshore:

Today we had the Top Notch, WaveRunner,  and High Hopes all fish offshore. The Instigator and Backlash crews are up in Ocean City fishing the White Marlin Open, we wish them tight lines and the best of luck in the tournament. The High Hopes returned to the docks with some Mahi, Black Sea Bass, Blueline Tilefish, and flying a White Marlin release flag. The WaveRunner returned to the docks flying 2 White Marlin release flags, a few Mahi, and caught and released several Sharks. The Top Notch returned to the docks with some nice Mahi, one of which was a citation size at 25 pounds.  The Rebel returned to the docks with a White Marlin release flag flying as well as a few Mahi.
