In Search Of Tuna!

Offshore

This morning several boats headed out offshore in search of a nice class school of Tuna again. Yesterday we had some really nice Yellowfin Tuna, all of solid sizes with one being over 60 pounds! One of our private boats returned later in the day yesterday with several Tuna and some nice Mahi!

The Backlash and the Rebel came back with some great catches of Tuna and Mahi. Great job guys!

One of our dockhands, Charlie, got a chance to go offshore yesterday and had two run-ins with Blue Marlin! They were able to catch and release a 350 lb Blue and Charlie himself fought a 750-800 lb Blue for 4 hours before it broke off at the boat. Even though it seems it would be a disappointment for it to break off after such a long fight, being able to see the fish is surreal and makes it all worth it. Way to go Charlie!

Inshore

We are happy to see the inshore bite picking up here with this nice weather we have had over the past few days. There are some nice Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel being caught on the troll. The Flounder bite has seemed to drop off on the bottom. Yesterday evening the Top Notch went out and had a great time catching and releasing small sharks!

Rudee Inlet

The Rudee Inlet bite is slow this morning. We have not seen to much action, however we have received reports of some Croaker and Spot being caught, as well as a few Roundheads. The Flounder are still here and occasionally biting on live minnows
