Rudee Inlet:

Inside Rudee Inlet the anglers are catching: Spot, Puppy Drum, and Speckled Trout. For the Spot the typical rig is a bottom rig with live bloodworms or the artificial Fishbites “Bag O’Worms.” The Spot’s preference seems to change from time to time. For the Puppy Drum they are using cut Finger Mullet with a split shot. As for the Speckled Trout, they are using gulps on a jig head.

Inshore:

The inshore has remained mainly Bluefish, but a few Stripped Bass have been caught trolling in the Chesapeake Bay.

Offshore:

The offshore bite is predominantly Wahoo and Dolphin. We have been seeing a good amount of citation Wahoo brought back to the docks. We have heard reports of the seldom Yellowfin Tuna being caught from time to time. Deep dropping is also good year round in Virginia Beach. If you are looking to go out for some meat fish, this may be the trip for you! While deep dropping you can fish for: Sea Bass, Blue Line Tile Fish, Black Bellied Rose Fish, Barrel Fish, Golden Tiles, as well as Wreck Fish
