Rockfish Update

Rockfish Update:

We have been receiving a lot of calls and emails asking about the infamous Rockfish. We are sad to say that we have not heard of any ocean Rockfish caught since the closing of the Bay Season, and Rockfish are no longer allowed to be kept inside of the Chesapeake Bay. This is not due to the lack of effort, we have had both charter boats and private boats out in search for them in legal waters outside of Rudee Inlet. We had one of the charter boats travel up in the bay and caught and released some nice ones. On the way back they threw out a couple of lines and had a few throw backs. The Bluefin have yet to make an appearance as well, we are hoping that we can get a little bit of luck here soon and have either or make an appearance.

Rudee Tours has been continuously running Whale Watching Trips with great success. There have been plenty of Whales and bait as well, but still no signs of the elusive Rockfish.  We believe that the Rockfish are still far up inside of the bay where there is plenty of bait sitting in the warmer waters. With colder weather moving in we remain positive that this could push the fish out of the bay and down our way. Stay Tuned because this could all change in the near future.
