Speckled Trout In Rudee Inlet

by | Nov 9, 2015

Today At The Marina:

Today we will see mostly cloudy skies, with increasing showers as the day goes on. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60’s with east winds between 10 and 15 MPH. Tonight we will see some rain, with it really coming down heavy at times. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 60’s with east winds between 5 and 15 MPH.

Offshore:

Today would be a rough one if any boats were to fish offshore, all of our boats are staying dockside. There is a gale warning in effect today. Offshore winds will be out of the east between 20 and 30 KT. Seas will be building to between 5 and 8 feet.  The last time our boats went out we saw some really nice hauls of Wahoo with some good size to them. We have also had some really beautiful Yellowfin Tuna, and some decent hauls of Mahi. We have also received reports of some Marlin still in the area, and even a Sailfish or two. Keep in mind that deep dropping out of Virginia Beach is good year round! Recently we have had some nice hauls brought in from the deep water consisting of: Barrel Fish, Black Sea Bass, Black Bellied Rose Fish, and some really beautiful Tilefish.

Inshore/Nearshore:

There are still a few lingering Bluefish biting on spoons. The all day inshore trip is currently targeting Black Sea Bass, Trigger fish, and even some nice Flounder.

Rudee Inlet:

Rudee Inlet seems to be packed full of Speckled Trout. With most Anglers talking about all the action they have seen. They seem to be biting best on the chartreuse Gulps on a light jig head, as well as the top water artificial baits bringing in a little action. Most of the Speckled Trout have appeared to be throw backs with a few keepers in the mix.
