Sunny But Breezy And Chilly

by | Nov 23, 2015

Today At The Marina:

Today we will be seeing lots of sun. Though the sun may be shining down on us it is still going to be breezy and cold. Highs will only be in the mid to upper 40’s. Wings will be North Northwest between 10 and 20 MPH, which gusts up to 25 MPH.  Tonight will be clears skies and cold, with lows in the low 30’s, upper 20’s more inland of us. Winds will be Northwest between 5 and 10 MPH.

Offshore:

Today offshore winds will be out of the north between 15 and 25 KT, before changing to out of the Northwest. Seas will be rough, between 7 and 12 feet. Tonight the winds will be North to Northwest between 10 and 20 KT, bringing seas to between 6 and 10 feet. The offshore bite seems to be mostly Yellowfin Tuna, and the seldom Big Eye Tuna. There are also still a few Mahi biting as well. Deep drop trips are still have terrific results with some nice hauls of Black Sea Bass, Tilefish, Barrel Fish, and Black Bellied Rose Fish.

Inshore:

We are under a small craft advisory until late tonight. Winds will be out of the Northwest between 20 and 25 KT, with gusts up to 30 KT. These high winds will be kicking up the seas to between 6 and 8 feet. The winds will lay down some throughout the day, calming the seas a little to between 5 and 6 feet. The inshore bite is really slow right now with only a handful of Bluefish lingering around. We are anxiously waiting to see if the Rockfish will arrive or not?

Rudee Inlet:

Sunny day fishing in Rudee Inlet today, but with some winds and chilly temperatures. Fishing in Rudee Inlet has seemed a little slower here recently. There is still some Speckled Trout action on gulps on a light jig head. The popular colors remain to be white and chartreuse. The majority of Speckle Trout being caught are still throwbacks although there is a mix bite of some nice keepers. There is a scattered bite of Puppy Drum hitting on cut baits.
