Update On Fishing

by | Nov 8, 2016

Rudee Inlet:

Inside Rudee Inlet lately we have heard some reports of some Nice Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum being caught. The Speckled Trout have been a little on the smaller side, though there have been some nice keepers in the mix of things. Speckled Trout have been hitting on (White or Chartreuse) Gulp on a light Jig Head, which could also hook you up on the occasional Flounder, the White Got-Cha Curtail Grubs have been fairing just as well. Puppy Drum have been hitting best on cut Finger/Fillet Mullet a few feet below the surface. There are still a few Spot lingering around hitting on Fishbites “Bag O’Worms.”

Inshore:

Though none of the fleet have fished inshore recently, we have heard some reports of some nice Red Drum being caught along the shoreline. While we are anxiously waiting to see if the Rockfish will make there way down our coastline and stay within the three mile line, there is a good sign of some with some Rockfish anglers reporting some catches of  schoolies while using topwater lures in the lower bay areas.

Offshore:

Sadly the fleet have not had the chance  fish offshore in recent days, but we are confident that there are still some nice Wahoo, ad maybe some Yellowfin Tuna out at the Norfolk Canyon. Deep Drop fishing is usually great around this time of year, the Head Boat fleet have been catching some Black Sea Bass and Tilefish in good numbers in the deep water.
