by | Oct 23, 2015

Today At The Marina:

We will have some periods of clouds this morning before giving way to sunny skies. It will be on the breezy side today with highs in the upper 60’s. Winds will be out of the north between 10 MPH and 15 MPH before switching northeast at 10 MPH. Tonight we will have clear skies with a low near 50, with winds out of the northeast at 10 MPH.

Offshore:

With the offshore forecast expected to build over the next bit of time as a cold front moves into the area, the boats decided to stay in their slips today. Winds will start out out of the west between 10 MPH and 15 MPH, becoming north to northwest at 20 KT early.Seas will be between 2 and 4 feet early, but continuing to build to 4 to 6 feet. The boats have fished over the past few days and every offshore trip has produced some nice hauls. We have seen a bunch of Wahoo brought in, some Yellowfin Tuna hit the docks, as well as some beautiful Mahi. We are hoping to have the boats back out and fishing soon.

Inshore:

There are still some Bluefish lingering off the coast of Virginia Beach. The last time the boats went out they returned with some nice catches of Bluefish, some with some nice size to them. We have also received reports of some Red Drum being caught and released as well.

Rudee Inlet:

Inside of Rudee Inlet right now are Speckled Trout, a few Croaker, and a very scattered Spot bite. The popular choices of bait have been; Gulp on a light jig head, squid, and live bloodworms.
